SAB 2009 Time!!

I have been busy the past few nights getting ready for the first demo class of the SAB 2009 season ;o) Yeah!!!!

I have soo many wonderful samples that I will be sharing with you soon ~ all from other SU! demos that participated in a swap that I recently hosted over on SCS. I snapped a few pictures tonight with the hopes of getting them posted but they just didnt turn out very well due to the lighting so I will try that again...but in the meantime I do know that Michelle (SCS: mtech) has posted her contributions to the swap to her blog -- so I will share that link with you tonight so you can check out her masterpieces here and here!!

Upsy Daisy Gift Bag

I completed this for an upcoming demo as the 3-D project of the night. It's just a very simple bag project -- one made with the white bags you can pick up at your supermarket. This same technique could also be used to apply to the front of the white SU! gift bags as well -- just cut to the specs of your fave bag ;o)

I used the SU! DSP Bella Rose and the IC Kiwi Kiss flavors for this project! I also highlighted the fun build a brads ~ you feel so accomplished after making one of those...and they are soo easy!!! The handles of the bag are simply just pieces of the same DSP paper cut - I think I cut these at 3/4" wide. It's hard to see in the picture but I used the rough edge tool of the cutter kit to go around the kiwi kiss stamped design - just to add a bit more texture to the project.

Here it the list of ingredients:

Stamp Set: Upsy Daisy

Card Stock: Bella Rose DSP pack, Kiwi Kiss

Stampin' Pads: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss

Accessories: Build A Brad, 1/2" circle punch, white paper sack, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Cutter Kit

Please check out page 64 of the new IB&C for another fun build a brad idea ;o)

Inspired by Nature

Why or why did one of my fave stamp sets, Inspired by Nature, have to be put on the 'dormant list'??? I will just take that as one more reason why I MUST demo it -- to then explain the dormant list with everyone ;o)

This was a fun card to create ~ the what is actually embossed and it really makes it pop! I figured this one could be used for a guy birthday or celebration too!!

The 'let's celebrate' is popped up with a few stampin' dimensionals for added depth and effect!

Here is a list of the ingredients:

Stamp Sets: Inspired by Nature, On Your Birthday
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White
Stampin' Pad: Chocolate Chip, Versa Mark
Accessories: White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Taffeta Chocolate Chip Ribbon, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Glittery Christmas Wreath

I know, I know...Christmas is over BUT I just had to post this now ;o) I had actaully made this wreath years ago but the past few years I have noticed the bulbs were starting to look 'ratty tatty' and I knew I needed to re-do a portion of it. So with the brilliant glitter bulb idea in mind, I decided to buy some sold red bulbs on the after Chrismtas clearance sales and then make the glitter green ones -- nice contrast huh? I used Green Galore ink with gold glitter.

Everyday Front Door Wreath

I had soo much fun creating the glitter bulbs at Christmas I had to come up with ideas so I could use them year round!!!

We live out in the country on the edge of a timber so we have a 'cabin' theme going on. This first picture is taken when standing in the garage looking at the house door.

Here is an upclose pic of the wreath. Of course being the thrifty shopper I am I picked up the wreath and ribbon on the after Christmas sales!! The ribbon is hard to see but its a copper color -- you know 'woodsy' color ;o) I did the bulbs using Chocolate Chip ink and gold glitter.
The pinecones add just the perfect touch! I have large and small pinecones in the little trees that sit on each side of the door as well ~

Out the kitchen window...

I was walking thru the kitchen tonight and spotted this out the window -- it's not an unfamiliar site at all -- they can usually be found in this area each day late afternoon. They love to nibble on the bird seed that has fallen to the ground. We have a feeder out there for the deer as well so that is even more of an incentive for them to come up out of the woods!
