Birthday Sparkles

This is such a fun combination -- birthday, cake, glitter, ribbon AND stamping!!! I am not sure what more a girl could ask for ;o)

The actual birthday cake is stamped twice -- once for the background that has the candles and then again in real red, cut out and added to the top of the identical background cake with stampin' dimensionals. Glitter was also applied to the popped cake as well -- gotta have that bling.

I'm thinking this could be either a guy card or a gal card because of the colors used -- what do you think?

Birthday Gratitude

Hello!! I feel just terrible posting this SOOO late ... but I couldnt NOT share my birthday gifts with all of you ;o) This was a special treat that I received from my SCS Sista' -- MissMike!! She is just soo creative AND thoughtful! My DH and I were out in her neck of the woods back in February and we got to hang out together for the day -- that was soo much fun -- I'm already planning on next Spring Sista ;o)

So for the deets of my fun gifts!!

Starting with the card - how cool! Michaeleen actually punched out circles to place on top of her printed cardstock. There are three eyelets in the upper left hand corner with three different colors of grosgrain ribbon tied thru them. The cute little sentiment is watercolored and popped up with stampin' dimensionals. I'll be CASE'ing this card layout fer' sure Sista ;o))

How about that adorable clip?? Great for holding a photo!! Sista Mike used a large black clippie that you can pick up at any office supply store or even at your local Wal-Mart or Target! She then covered the black portion (clip) with printed paper and added a few fun stamped images/saying to the front and tied a piece of ribbon around it and call it awesome ;o)

The other two little "T" keyrings are absolutely TREMENDOUSLY awesome ;o) These are little post it notes jazzed up - how cool is this idea??!! Like I said...Sista Mike is the most creative stamper I know ......

AND I am sooo honored to call her my Sista ;o) Once again I say my thanks to Splitcoaststampers for 'introducing us' -- its a friendship that I am sooo thankful for ;o)

I wanted to get these posted the day I got em' but my life has been full of SU! colors lately but just not stamping wise ;o) I've been painting my parents new house -- each room is a different SU! color -- and I'll be sharing those rooms with you soon -- just trying to get the finishing touches done in each room before snapping some pics ;o) Stay Tuned!!!

Birthday Fun!

Does this card look familar?? In my last blog post I had posted a pic and revealed who my SCS DDSS was --- this card was included in that package of goodies from Barb. It was just soo dang cute! I wanted to give you an up close look at it AND share with you another fun link since we are 'talking' about birthdays here!!

Quoted directly from Barbs SCS gallery here is what she has to say about her creation here:

"I love the crab and company set. I used cool caribbean, orange and close to cocoal. Stamped the crab in stazon brown on scallop punch. Stamped him again and colored him in. Cut him out and popped him up above the original image. Cut out the birthday cake and present. Used my cuttlebug embossing folder for the background."

Please feel free to jump over to Barbs gallery on SCS and give her some kudos for this awesome card -- here is her gallery!

~~~~~~
Now for a fun web link I would like to share with you too! I recently received this from my Aunt C.J. This contains anything and everything you would evah' want to know about your birthday! I had fun reading about my birthday --- and I thought you would too!
Sista' Mike Spoils...
I just have to show you this card ... and this is just one of the handful of cards that Sista' Mike (MissMike on SCS) mailed to me the week of my birthday back in March!! What a sweetie she is indeed *wink wink*
Isn't this just the neatest card layout? You untie the ribbon to open the card and then it opens up from under the slit punch and eyelet. The 'happy birthday' greeting is actually peekin' thru a window! How clever is this?!
Thanks for your continued ideas Sista' --- they nevah' cease to amaze me ;o)
Authentic Birthday Thoughts
When I spotted the card that mhuemoe had brilliantly created on SCS I just knew that I had to save that into my faves for later case'ing .... fer' sure ;o)
I also wanted to show off the round tab punch CORNER idea at my April workshops so I put these two ideas together and came up with this card. I should have probably used a darker background cardstock color rather than the Sahara Sand so the Certainly Celery corner idea would have 'popped' more but it does look a bit better IRL.
It seems like this card does use quite a few different stamp sets but for the different groups that I was getting together with thoughout the month they have quite a few stamp sets *wink wink* I know many of them can run home and make this card with what they have on hand now. There are certainly many variations you an do to this card but I think the two things that really help to make this card are the new spiral punch and of course the new round tab punch that you actually use twice!!
As always, here is my recipe for this beaut --- (I share all of my recipes on a 'recipe sheet' with my customers at the beginning of each demo ... it's just one that I print out in Word in a two columns. That way they can take any notes as I am making each card and also have it to take home with them if they so choose...)
Stamp Sets: Stamp of Authenticity, Heartfelt Thanks, Print Pattern BG, French Script BG, Circle of Friendship, Happy Everything, Warmest Regards
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Naturals Ivory
Stampin’ Pad: Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal, Mellow Moss Stampin’ Write Marker, Regal Rose Stampin’ Write Marker
Accessories: 1 ¼” Circle Punch, ½” Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, New Round Tab Punch, New Spiral Punch, Scoring Blade
Gifts from Sista Mike
And the celebration continues!!! Check out this big ole' package of goodies that arrived the day before my birthday from my AZ Sista' Michaeleen, SCS'er (MissMike) ;o) Ohh wee!! It was soo fun to go thru her package as she was 'obvioulsy' taking notes as we were shopping in February in AZ!!!
Here is the 'big picture' .....
Now... let us zoom in and take a closer look at things here... The two picture frames ~ Take a look here at her frame in her gallery. That is one of hers all 'hansomed' up --- isnt it just awesome?? We were lookin' at these in Michaels when we were shopping.
Then in the center of the frames is a cuttlebug embossing die ~ how funny that we have been discussing those and I believe I even mentioned this was one of my favorite ones?!...
Then of course the center bag is a bag o' ribbon from the wall o' ribbon!!! OH GOLLY .... there has to be like 1000 and 1 yards in there all different kinds!!! Ohh wee!! Then she wrapped up some real purddy' pink chocolates ... mmm! .... maybe too perddy to eat??and there are some real purddy flowers --- Bazzill flowers to be exact! And look how they are all sooo organized ;o)) Sista' Mike knows how I love to be o' so organized!! ;o)Then check out the hardware hardware hardware!! She sent me some of the new Aarow hardware as well as some of the fun stuff from 'the alley' which is a little nook in the scrapbook store with 'good junk' ~ ~ ~ they will be fun on the frames don't cha' think?!?! *wink wink*
Whew ... and if there is any time left that I'm not a stampin' she also sent along a fun cookbook!! I've been telling her that I have been trying out fun new recipes that all involve a cake mix as the base of the receipe and the guys at work have been going crazy over them ... and they are sooo sooo simple to make!! So she has found me more fun and funky recipes to try out from this cookbook!! YEAH!!!!!
And to top it alll off....check out the cutest card she sent along with it all!!!
What another fun package indeedy do!! ;o)) Thanks soo much Sista for another memorable stampin' birthday!! No fair though ---- you need to come here to Iowa now to go shoppin' with me BEFORE your birthday --- cuz' how are you supposed' to drop hints to ME???? HUH??? lol *I'll figure somethin' out ..... humm....tapping finger on chin*
