Alcohol & Stampin' .. a different twist!

One of the first things new stampers learn is how to add color to stamped images with markers. It's generally done with water-based markers but with the popularity of alcohol-based markers, why not try those, too? Once again our friends at Splitcoast Stampers are showing off this technique in a very cool tutorial -- thanks to Gina Krupsky for showing us how!!

Yeah! What a fun day it was yesterday! I got to meet a fellow blogging/SCS Sister, Michelle, on her own stamping er' I mean stomping grounds ;o) lol

We toured her guest house out in a beautiful wooded valley area as well as getting a personal tour from her of her family campground -- we had such a great time! Thanks Michelle ;o) AND she was sooo generous and shared one of her Harley squash books with me!! BONUS!! Christmas in July!!

Hello Everyone!!! I wonder if it's as hot where you are as it is here in the midwest? We got into the 90's today for the first time all year ~ now I know some of you are just laughing at this as you are in the triple digitis and have been for quite some time (sorry Sista' Mike -- I know you are living in your pool this time of year!) but I think for us here it's just the beginning of the hot stuff!!

So thinking about something cool ~ I thought of these today -- and I actaully bought some bulbs after Christmas last year on clearance so I could make some of these this year ;o)) Now may be the time to create, huh?

Once again, I found this inspiration from my fave stampin' site ~ SCS!! ;o) If there were a town named 'splitcoaststampers' I think I'd wanna move there ;o)) hehe!!

You may just start 'seeing clearly' on these hot summer days too ;o)

Ribbit!

My Aunt CJ had sent this cute little froggie post it note to me and asked what my ideas were to incorporate it into the acrylic 6X4 frames ~ she is gonna make up some fun gifts with the pens to give to her girlfriends. This is my idea to share with her ;o)

As you can see the post it note is actually the same size as the frame - it all worked out ok though! I pulled out some colors from the post it note to complete this project....also trying to keep in mind of the supplies that my Aunt had already so she could complete this!! I know she doesnt have the 'It's a good time' stamp set so I went ahead and stamped/embossed some of those images for her and sent them her way ;o)

Golly!!!

It's been awhile ~ hasn't it? I can't wait to show you some pictures of my latest 'project'! LOL My parents have 'swapped' houses with my brother and sister-in-law -- Mom and Dad moved to town and my brother and his family moved to the farm!! Sooo I have been painting the house before Mom and Dad move in (they are currently staying in the motorhome).

Instructions1. Cut top closure and flaps from Pop-Up Glue Dot box. Cover box using Old Olive Prints Designer Series paper. Use Sticky Strip to assemble box. 2. Adhere Old Olive ribbon to interior of purse using Sticky Strip to form handles.3. Stamp flower images in Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper (3-1/8” x 2”). Watercolor images using Bordering Blue, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, and Purely Pomegranate ink and Aqua Painter. Let dry, and adhere to purse.

Wow wee!! Check out these awesome creations by my Aunt CJ!! She sent me a pic via email of what she has been busy doing -- and guess what?! She is NEW to stamping and is already creating these lovely items!! Amazing!!

The little word window punch tag on the candle says "wonderful you". When I asked her where she came up with this idea here is what she said - she is referring to the new SU! Idea Book & Catalog...

I tried to copy the one on page 91# in a different color as I am giving it to Judy next door. Can you tell I love Spring yellow and green?? LOL... I am drawn to those colors, always.

A Chocolate Vase

Isn't this just the cutest vase of flowers you have evah' seen?! I received this in the mail today from my darling daughter ~ SU! stampin' daugher that is!! LuAnn (lizzy3) over on SCS.

LuAnn taped the Hersey bar with sticky tape then wrapped the band of white cardstock around the middle and then glued it

B My Valentine!

It's hard to believe that we are approaching Valenties Day! It's this coming week already!!!

Here is a little pouch that I created and demo'd this past week at a SU! demo. It's super cute and very easy to make! The size of your pouch all depends on what you plan on putting (attaching) in it. This was designed for either a tea bag or a small fun size candy bar. Its approximately 5" wide and 10" long.

On one end I punched it with the slit punch. Then just simply fold the other end over so the other end of the cardstock goes into the slit punch - then you just make your fold on the other end. That way you know they will close properly!

Then I just randomly stamped the heart flowers all over with basic black ink. I dabbed each flower tip with the Zig Painly Pen ~ silver end! It just adds a bit of extra with hardly any extra work at all!

I used both sizes of the tag punches, added some ribbon and whoola! Its complete. I suggested to use the pop up glue dots to attach your goodies to the inside - those work wonderful for this kind of project!

Stamp Sets: Happy Heart Day
Card Stock: Real Red, Basic Black, Confetti White
Stampin’ Pads: Basic Black, Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker
Accessories: 1/16” Circle Punch, Slit Punch, Black Gingham Ribbon, Tag Punch, Small Tag Punch, Zig Painty Pen, Pop Up Glue dots (to attach treats to the inside)

This is called a Free Standing Pop-Up Card!! Isnt it just go-jous? Thanks soo much to JoAnn (SCS: jreks) for making this and sending it to me with a recent swap return!! It's just awesome and I can't wait to try this myself -- But I think I'm gonna wait to get a Scor Pal first -- maybe for my birthday in March? ;o)

Here is tis' from the side -- I want to try to clearly explain this to you from all dimensions!

Here it is folded down -- yes! You can mail these beauties!!

Ok, so for the deets! Here we go!

Cut cardstock in the following sizes:

11" x 4 1/4" piece A (main body of card)

5 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece B (main image)

2 1/2" x 1 1/2" piece C (front greeting)

Decorate piece "A". Turn over and score at 1", 2 3/4", 3 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/4", 8 1/4", 10". On the center line, (5 1/2") mark 3/4" from both sides. Cut a line 2 3/4" long between the two 3/4" marks.

Stamp your main image on piece "B". Be sure not to stamp on the bottom 1" which won't be seen.

On piece "A" mark the center on the 1" score line on both ends. On piece "B" mark the center for the bottom only. Thread the bottom of "B" through the center slot of "A". Align and glue the two center marks of "A" and "B" together with B in the center.

Stamp a greeting onto piece "C" and adhere to front of card. When finished, the card will slide up and down through the slot. It's flat for mailing, but free standing once its opened.

It's just soo sweet!! Get creative!! What different pop up designs can you create?

Lizzys Latte

MMM! Happy Saturday morning to you!! Shall we start out with a delicious latte?

I wanted to share this adorable slider card that I received in the mail this week from one of my darling downlines in SU! This was created by LuAnn Johnson.

When you pull down on the white piece of cardstock at the bottom then the latte in the cup disappears! LuAnn is just a Genius!! Thanks so much Dear ;o)
