Happy, Dandy, Candy Night!!

Do you know the definition of Halloween? 1. October 31, celebrated by children of all ages. 2. Dressing up, trick-or-treat, bob for apples, cider sweet. 3. Jack-o'-lanterns, squeals of fright, a happy, dandy, candy night!

This adorable card was created by Scheli Abraham for a card swap I recently hosted - and how adorable it tis'!! The best thing about this card is hard to see in this picture, I apologize. I have it in a clear cello envelope so it stays clean as I show it off but the witches hat itself just sparkles with fun! Scheli used the iridescent Ice embossing powder on it

Stampin' Pads: Basic Black Craft and Classic

Gourds! Gourds!! Gourds!!!

Got gourds? We do ;o)

Not knowing what we 'could' grow or what 'would' grow I guess we planted enough of everything! LOL Here are the totes of the gourds we have left after our punkin' pickin' party! Want some and live close? Email me and we will get together! Want some shipped to you? We can do that too! Contact me for further deets!

Also, here is just another shot of a pumpkin display at our place in front of the shed. I thought this long orange pumpkin was strangely odd - and it goes well with my fave white punkins too! Next year I am going to try my green thumb at the blue punkins - how FUN!

Happy Fall Y'all!

Ooh...It's almost PPP time!!

...."Punkin Pickin Party" time that is!!! Last Tuesday we received about two inches of rain and wind. It's amazing what the patch looked like when that was all over - what was left of the leaves got wet and really fell to the ground! What's left is an acre of colors ;o) It will soon be time to pick punkins! Yeah!

I went out to the patch this past Wednesday night to take a good look around AND to hand select some different gourds and punkins for Michelle ... which I will have hand delivered to her in SD by the time you read this post!! (Hope you liked them Michelle! *waving 2U*)

It's fun to actually get to walk thru the patch now! All summer I would work on the outskirts of it and occasionally try to sneak in a bit but I learned not to go too far in as I didn't want to kill the vines by walking on them! I was pleasantly surprised to see how many ghost pumpkins appeared, yeah! They are the white ones and I was hoping for a good number of those but all summer I could only count a handful or so. But now looking I think we have about 20 ;o)

I'll post some PPPP -- that's Punkin Pickin' Party Pictures in a few weeks!!

~ Fall Is In The Air ~

I've been busy the past few days working on Halloween stampin' projects ---cards, cello bag toppers and paint cans (along with the general tasks in everyday life too -- including prep for an audit that is this Friday morning for the apartments we manage---I am a firm believer that stamping is a stress outlet for me!! I will be sooo glad when Friday afternoon rolls around!) But anywhoo, I thought I would post a card tonight that is one of my all time favorites! I am not sure if it is because it is fall, and that *is* my favorite season but I just love the colors and the 'faux metal' technique. The technique, and card layout for that matter, came right from my favorite source of stampin' inspiration---SCS!

Here is the Faux Metal Technique tutorial.

My copper leaf here is the faux metal in this example. And if I can do it---anyone can do it!! Give it a try ~~ it's bunches of fun!! I demo'd this for a favorite stampin' group of mine last year --- I held a little 'customer appreciation' day for them and I tried to show them techniques that I wouldnt normally cover during a week night demo due to time restrictions (and its a tad bit messy and I have a huge fear I would spill the copper embossing powder ALL over their floors! *eek*)

Here is my recipe----
Stamps: Shapes & Shadows, Linen Background
Card Stock: All from the Color Coach; Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss, Basic Black (for the faux metal leaf)
Ink: Handsome Hunter, VersaMark
Accessories: Copper Embossing Powder, Sponge, Gold Wide Organdy Ribbon, Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon, Copper Cord
