The picture does not show all of the detail so I will start with the background and work forward. I started with real red cardstock as my base. I ran whole sheets thru my computer printer and printed a quick note (times two) on the inside to family and friends so they didnt think we were "MIA" *lol*. I then cut those into 2 cards. On the front of each one I used the snowfakes from the stamp set 'The Snowflake Spot' and stamped real red snowflakes on the real red cardstock just to 'fill in the space'. I then silver embossed 'Cheers' in the lower right hand corner of each card front. The card fronts were then set aside.
Next, I started on the big snowflakes. I silver embossed those on the brushed silver carstock and then used the ticket corner punch in the bottom two corners only. I attached the brushed silver cs to bliss blue cardstock and then punched a 1/16" hole and adhered two silver brads. I then attached that to a piece of almost amethyst cardstock, leaving it a bit longer at the top. I then scored and folded the top down and tore the edge across to give it a different look before wrapping the fun fancy fibers ~ Scarlet ~ around the card a few times and adhering that to the front of the card.
This card was inspired by a few SCS'ers that I want to give credit to!! I really liked the card that JeanneS had posted awhile back here. I just loved her colors!! Also, I recently received an RAK in the mail from TracyTripp and in her card she had sent me some of the Scarlet Fancy Fibers. I totally forget about using this fun stuff! So I pulled out what I had and put it to use in my New Years cards here!! Thanks Ladies for your inspiration!!!
As always, here is a list of my 'ingredients':
Stamp Sets: The Snowflake Spot, All Year Cheer III (for the Happy New Year stamp for the inside of the card)
Card Stock: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst, Brushed Sliver
Stampin' Pads: Real Red, Basic Black
Accessories: Fancy Fibers -- Scarlet, Ticket Corner Punch, Silver Brads, 1/16" Circle Punch, Sterling Silver Embossing Powder, The Tearing Edge
~TFL & Enjoy~
