Congrats to Miss Malia

Hello Everyone!! Yeah! Good news to share with all of you ;o) The following is the latest update on Miss Malia ~ Thanks to God! As told by her Mom:

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 09, 2008 03:32 PM, CDT
Complete in patient chemo – check. Yep, we’re home! All in all it wasn’t so bad. I was really nervous that Malia’s nausea was going to result in numerous vomiting episodes but there was just one – and it wasn’t that bad. She’s even eating a little here and there. I don’t know if it’s that her body is becoming a little more adjusted to it now that it’s about to end or if it’s that we keep telling her that this is the last round. Either way, she seems to be doing much better this time than last. H-O-O-R-A-Y!!

We’ve got quite a few more visits to Phoenix Childrens over the next couple of weeks – her two (2) regular clinic visits for chemo and exams, a post-chemo CT scan, a hearing test, and a follow up (I’m hoping we can just get them to switch that follow up appointment to be the same day as the hearing test). Then after that, as long as the CT comes back without any areas of concern then we should be able to make one more appointment to have the port-a-cath removed and we will officially be done with chemo!

We’ll get the AFP results at clinic this next week and I’ll be sure to report any other info I get.

Cheers to Malia – she’s almost done!! We’ll update you all soon.
Love to you all!
